Back to work...

...finally.  A smallish group showed up to draw a very game Lady J, although she was still a bit under the weather.  We tried to be kind and not push her in any way but are very grateful that she posed for us.  Let's see if we can keep it going.

Let's give it another try

I know that this year has so far been pretty hit or miss... well, more miss than hit.  Let's see if we can get the schedule back on track starting tonight.  Hope to see y'all there.

Saying goodbye to a friend

 I just found out that a friend of mine, Concepcion "Cep" Garcia, has passed away.  My wife and I knew her when we worked for Sutton's Sportswear and we kept in touch after we all left.  I used her as a model many times and some of my best work had her as the subject.

 These are just a few of the sketches I have but she was the subject of a couple of paintings of mine as well.

She left behind two children and many friends and family who will miss her.  She touched a lot of lives and, I guess, that is really all that we can ask.  My wife and I are thankful for having known Cep and we hope everyone who knew her can remember all the good that she brought to us all.

Rest in Peace, Concepcion.

Weather just ain't cooperating

Sorry folks, gonna have to cancel tonight.  Don't really want anyone out on the streets just to do a little drawing.  Let's hope we have better luck with Mother Nature next week.

Another model "failure to launch"

Apologies for anyone who may have dropped in after 7:30 last night but our model failed to show and, given the weather, we had a small group to begin with.  Probably better that no one was out anyhow.  We will give it another shot next week
